The Boston Red Sox have lost their All-Star closer, Craig Kimbrel, to knee surgery but GM Dave Dombrowski quickly went to Plan B on Saturday. The Sox acquired Brad Ziegler from the Arizona Diamondbacks to bolster the back end of the bullpen for the second-place club.

San Diego high school outfielder Mickey Moniak was taken first overall by the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday as the 2016 First-Year Player Draft got started. The La Costa Canyon High School star became the first prep outfielder taken with the 1/1 pick since Delmon Young in 2003.
