Yesterday was the day for salary arbitration filing and the deadline to exchange figures is Friday, so there will be plenty of players/teams avoiding arbitration this week. C A.J. Ellis and the Dodgers did just that yesterday, agreeing to a 1YR/$4.25MM contract.
MLBTradeRumors.com has a live Arbitration Tracker where you can follow all the action as it happens.
Those players who don’t come to an agreement will be scheduled for arbitration in February, but the two sides can still negotiate up until any scheduled hearing and come to terms. Otherwise, the hearing will determine which figure, the player’s or the owner’s, will be paid for a one-year deal.
