BUXTON OUT OF AFL WITH FINGER INJURY

OF Byron Buxton had his Arizona Fall League stint come to an end Monday night when he dislocated the middle finger on his glove hand diving for a ball. Buxton was selected by the Twins with the second overall pick of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft and is ranked as the top prospect in all of baseball by MLB.com.

But 2014 was a tough one for Buxton as he was limited to just 31 total minor league games. A bruised left wrist in Spring Training got the 20-year old off to a rough start before a concussion in his first, and only, AA game ended his minor league season.

In the AFL, Buxton was hitting .263/.311/.298 in 13 games with the Salt River Rafters prior to the injury. He is expected to start 2015 in AA.
