After 146 players filed for arbitration on Tuesday, the field has been reduced considerably by the numerous deals reached since then, including those agreed to by David Price, Clayton Kershaw and Max Scherzer. Today, figures were exchanged between players and clubs with arbitration hearings to be scheduled if necessary.
Once again, the player submits a figure he wants to get paid, his club submits a figure that it feels the player is worth. The two sides can continue to negotiate until an arbitration hearing takes place. If a deal is struck, no hearing.
