The 2014 Visalia Rawhide coaching staff has been announced with Robby Hammock taking the helm after managing at short-season Class A Missoula last season. Bobby Smith returns for a second season as hitting coach and Gil Heredia comes back for a second year as pitching coach.
All three have major league playing experience with Hammock an alumnus of the Diamondbacks. The new field boss saw major league action in six different seasons and caught Randy Johnson’s perfect game in 2004.
Smith and Heredia return to Visalia in their familiar positions and both have been coaching in Arizona’s systems for several seasons. Smith is in his 4th season while Heredia is in his 5th.
