ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE OPENS TODAY

The Arizona Fall League begins another season today with some of the best minor league talent seeing action against each other, including Baseball America’s 2013 Minor League Player of the Year Byron Buxton. The Twins’ OF prospect is one of many talented minor leaguers that will get extra work this fall in the AFL.

MLB.com’s Teddy Cahill has a preview article up today that includes links to all six AFL teams and the list of MLB teams that feed each. Also, players on AFL rosters that are in MLB.com’s top 100 prospects are listed in a table in the article.

There’s interesting action everyday in the Arizona Fall League and it may be a little difficult to keep up on while the MLB playoffs and World Series are going on, but it is worth keeping an eye on. The season runs through mid-November with the championship game scheduled for November 16th and the Fall Stars Game on November 2nd featuring the best players of the AFL season.
