Top Orioles prospect RHP Dylan Bundy needs Tommy John surgery on his pitching elbow and will be out of action for the extended period of time the recovery takes. Bundy is ranked as the #2 prospect in all of baseball by MLB.com and Baseball America.

Bundy, the 4th overall pick in the 2011 First Year Player Draft hasn’t pitched this season after being shut down in spring training. The 20-year old has a combined record of 9-3 in three minor league stops in 2012. His totals in his one full season are impressive: 103 2/3 minor league innings pitched with just 28 walks and 119 strikeouts.

Last year, at age 19, the Orioles called up the phenom in September and he got into two major league games in relief. He pitched 1 2/3 innings allowing just one hit and no runs.
