CALIFORNIA LEAGUE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

The weekly honors for the California league saw Bakersfield Blaze (Reds) RHP Jon Moscot and Inland Empire 66ers (Angels)  Michael Snyder recognized for their perfomances over the week ending May 19.

Moscott threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball at the Stockton Ports on May 17th allowing 0 runs on 1 hit with 1 BB and 9 K’s. It was a remarkable turnaround for Moscot, who was 0-6 on the season to that point. The 9 K’s were a career high for Moscot and the 1-0 victory over Stockton kicked off a winning streak for the Blaze that currently stands at 5.

Snyder went 8-for-21 last week with 3 HR and 6 RBI while scoring 6 runs. It continued a great year for the 66ers OF who now has 8 HR and 25 RBI on the season. A big chunk of the damage was done over a 3-game stretch when Snyder went 7-for-11 from May 13-16 against Visalia and High Desert with a double, a triple and the three homers.
