It’s now or never for trades without putting players through the waiver process for 2012. At 4PM ET today, the Non-Waiver Trade Deadline changes the process for trading players for the rest of the season and many big names are still rumored to be involved in talks. Here is a roundup of Monday’s dealings;

DODGERS GET LEAGUE – The Dodgers added closer Brandon League, sending two minor leaguers to Seattle. League has had some struggles lately and will fit somewhere in the Dodger bullpen that already has a strong back end. It cost the Dodgers minor league OF Leon Landry and P Logan Bawcom.

BRAVES DEAL FOR MAHOLM, JOHNSON – The Braves were stiffed by Ryan Dempster’s 10-and-5 rights, but they got a pitcher yesterday, LHP Paul Maholm, along with utility man Reed Johnson. Going to the Cubs in the exchange were minor leaguers RHP Arodys Vizcaino and RHP Jaye Chapman. Vizcaino was Atlanta’s #2 organizational prospect heading into the season in Baseball America’s rankings.

RANGERS ACQUIRE SOTO FROM CUBS – The Rangers added C Geovany Soto from the Cubs for minor league RHP Jacob Brigham and also DFA’d Yorvit Torrealba. Soto was the 2008 NL Rookie of the Year for the Cubs but has a line of .199/.284/.347 this season.
