TOP PICK CORREA RETURNS FROM GROIN INJURY

Top overall draft pick Carlos Correa has played 17 games in the Rookie Gulf Coast League and so far he’s having a rough go of it. Returning to the lineup last night after missing nine games with a groin injury, the Astros’ draftee out of Puerto Rico has 8 hits in his last 41 ABs for the GCL Astros and has a lineĀ of .162/.219/.265. In 68 ABs the SS has 4 walks and 16 K’s.

It’s early and it is a small sample size, but as the top overall pick, Correa is going to be under the spotlight as he adjusts to to the pro game. Follow his progress in the GCL as he bounces back from injury here.
