OPENING DAY, TAKE 2: CARDS TOP MARLINS

The extended Opening Day continued on Wednesday night as the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals took on the Miami Marlins in a game that counted in the standings. Filling in for the injured Chris Carpenter, RHP Kyle Lohse was masturful over 7 1/3 innings to get the win as the Cards came out on top, 4-1.

The A’s and Mariners split a pair in Japan last week as the MLB season officially got underway. And today there are seven more openers with everybody getting into action on Friday.
