WINTER MEETINGS BEGIN

Baseball’s Winter Meetings kick off Monday in Dallas with many of the industry’s influential figures moving about in close proximity to one another. Will blockbusters be made? Or minor deals that turn out to be major? You never can tell going in, but there will definitely be plenty of talk on the table.

Jose Reyes, Heath Bell and Joe Nathan are off the market but Albert Pujols, C.J. Wilson and Prince Fielder are still available, along with valuable players that have less eye-popping resumes. As Jayson Stark points out, Alex Rodriguez’ mind-boggling $252M contract was sealed in these meetings in 2000. Pujols could break the $300M mark this time around.

Should be an eventful four days this week, even if all that comes out of it are the rumors. Check back here for all the important developments.
